Abandoned baby cases in suburbs show need for safe

In 10 years, Illinois’ Safe Haven Law has provided homes for 70 babies legally left with authorities. But nearly as many newborns, including a recent case in Schaumburg, have been left in the wrong places and some, like a recent case in Streamwood, have died unnecessarily, an activist says.
