It’s been a marathon summer for drivers who use I-290 daily but some relief is in sight. The Illinois Department of Transportation announced motorists should expect to see lanes opening on the I-290 extension as of this morning. The rollout will last into the weekend until all lanes are ready for traffic.

Police: Felony charge for McHenry Co. girl, 11, who left kidnap note

An 11-year-old girl has been hit with a felony charge for leaving a prank note at a bank saying she had been kidnapped. The note was left on the back of a money order slip on Aug. 11 at the McHenry Savings Bank in the 10000 block of Main St. in Richmond, according to a news release from the Richmond Police Department.
