Hunger in the suburbs is on the rise and use of food stamps has nearly doubled in the region in the last five years, state data shows. Food stamp use has increased by 46%t in Cook County, 133% in DuPage, 84% in Lake, 96% in Kane, 168% in McHenry and 74% in Will.
