U.S. Sen. Roland Burris announced Friday Illinois is slated to receive more than $8 million in federal grants for job training, Chicago Breaking News reports. Illinois will receive two grants from the Department of Labor; the money will be used for training in health care and “emerging industries,” the report said. Governor State University in University Park will receive a grant for $4.9 million and the National Council of La Raza in Chicago will receive $3.4 million. [ Chicago Breaking News ]
