It was hard to tell that 16 years had passed between albums with The Jayhawks’ two principal songwriters when considering their classic sound at the crowded Vic Theatre on Friday. Whether it was their vintage “Waiting For The Sun,” or new song “Closer To Your Side,” a demarcation in era was nearly undetectable.
