Metra fares are going up an average of 29 percent for 10-ride and monthly passes after a vote by the board of the suburban commuter rail service Friday. Single ride tickets also will increase. Metra board directors also voted on a measure preventing riders from hoarding tickets at the cheaper pre-hike price.
