Metra trains stopped in Des Plaines

A “pedestrian incident” caused all Union Pacific Northwest Metra line trains to be stopped in both directions in Des Plaines Wednesday evening. Metra had to cancel trains No. 653 and No. 655 due to the incident at Des Plaines. As of 8:10 p.m., Metra was attempting to bring Union Pacific Northwest line train No. 657 to accommode passengers along that line, but it was being delayed at Irving Park due to switch failure. On its Web site , Metra says the estimated time of delay is unknown.
