A 22-year-old man was shot to death as he sat on his front porch in the South Austin neighborhood Monday evening, officials said. Edward Williamson, of the 4900 block of West Hubbard Street, was pronounced dead at 10:05 p.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. An autopsy is scheduled for later today. Williamson was shot at about 7:30 p.m. by two males who shot him as he sat on his porch, said Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Robert Perez. Police do not have a motive but said that Williamson was affiliated with a gang. Grand Crossing area detectives are investigating. No other details were available. — Carlos Sadovi
