Itasca, home to only 9,000 residents, pulls off the state’s biggest fireworks display. It’s long been one of the suburbs’ most popular Fourth of July events, but after Chicago scaled back its July 3 fireworks last year, then canceled fireworks altogether this summer, the event at Itasca’s Hamilton Lakes has reached new peaks.
