Soon, and for a limited time, local restaurants may charge you for tap water – for a good reason. World Water Week is nearly upon us (March 21 – 27) and the U.S. Fund for UNICEF Tap Project is back in Chicago at participating restaurants. The project allows patrons in restaurant to donate $1 or more for the tap water they normally drink for free while dining out at participating restaurants. UNICEF tells us that your $1 can provide clean drinking water for a child for up to 40 days. To kick things off in Chicago, Sunda (located 110 West Illinois Street) will host a cocktail and four course dinner party on Friday, March 19 at 7p.m. Tickets for the dinner are $100 per person, which includes cocktails and hors d’oeuvres to start, a four-course family style menu and open premium bar including cocktails by Grey Goose Vodka, sake, wine and champagne.
