Warmth Delays Wrigley Rink Opening

Image via The ice rink that was to open today at a parking lot across from Wrigley Field won’t be opening until this weekend. Why? It’s hard to believe given last week’s deep freeze but the past few days have been just too darn warm. With temps creeping near 40 degrees over the weekend and into yesterday, it seems, according to CBS 2 , “the ice did not form correctly.” Fortunately, we’re all set for another solid cold snap over the next few days so officials are aiming to have the rink – $10 for adult, $6 for kids – open on Saturday.
