Secretary of State Jesse White wants to keep his job for another four years. White’s campaign said he planned to announce today that he will seek a fourth term in a three-city, fly-around the state. The secretary of state oversees drivers license facilities and other state-related paperwork. White will make his initial announcement in Chicago, then travel to Springfield and Marion. The 75-year-old White was first elected in 1998. Aurora businessman Robert Enriquez is running in the Republican primary for the secretary of state post. The Illinois Republican Party says Enriquez is a former Marine who wants to use his business acumen to improve the secretary of state’s office. –Associated Press
